Our open day on Sunday was won by Jim Fahey of Dorrigo in A-grade at Scott Hulbert in B-grade. Thanks to the Dorrigo contingent that boosted numbers to make the field somewhat respectable. Jim is pictured above with club captain, Chris Smith. Wednesdays Par 3 Challenge saw Geoff Ridgwell take first place with a creditable net 26 The Target Hole was claimed by Scott Hulbert. Saturday’s event saw a very good field of 60 starters compete in the North State Finance Single Stableford event. Winners on the day were: A grade – Glen Jones 38 points, R/U Dennis Lyon 36 points B grade – Scott Hulbert 39 points, R/U Richard Martin 37 points NTP’s went to 3rd Peter Tyson, 6th Bruce Baigent (what a turnaround – 11 one week, 2 the next), 7th Scott Hulbert 6th (pro pin) Gary Bryant, 15th (KB Hole) Jayden Taylor, 16th David Adams (Urunga). Balls went to 34 points – Bob Clarke 35, D. Mattacott 34, Neville Osbourne 35, Peter Giblett 36, Terry Khan 36, Brad Nesbitt 36, Jayden Taylor 34, Mick Raymond 34. Next weeks event sees the final of the Matchplay good luck to the competing teams. Sunday was the Cassella Wines Open Day, and the winners were: A grade J. Fahey, net 70. Allan NTPs 3 Gary Bryant, 6 Chris Smith, 7 Chris Smith, 12 Merve Dark with a magnificent Hole in One, 16 Jayden Taylor Scott Hulbert topped a brilliant few days of golf by winning 8 “skins” in the Friday friendly(?) competition, and the other young guy, Jayden Taylor just goes from strength to strength.
