Matthew Locke added to the Roll of Honour

The names of six Australian soldiers were added to the Australian War Memorial’s Roll of Honour at a private family ceremony last Tuesday (November 11), before the National Remembrance Day Ceremony. Among those added to the Roll of Honour was: Sergeant Matthew Raymond Locke, MG Special Air Service Regiment, Afghanistan Sergeant Locke MG died of wounds in Oruzgan Province on October 25, 2007, aged 33 The ceremony included a wreath laying on the Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier by members of the six families, the unveiling of names on the Roll of Honour, and the placing of poppies alongside the names by family members. The Roll of Honour lists the names of over 102,000 Australian servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
