Cemetery Creek restoration works

4/11/2008 10:51:00 AM
The Bellingen Urban Landcare Group with funding provided through Bellingen Shire Councils Environmental Levy will continue to work on the restoration of Cemetery Creek in Connell Park over the next year. The group will be expanding the area of restoration work along Cemetery Creek by undertaking weed control, including Camphor Laurel removal, and planting with local native plants.

The project will also continue the development of the Bellingen Bush Tucker Walk. With assistance from the local indigenous community, this work includes the planning and planting of Bush Tucker plant species throughout Connell Park and a Bush Tucker Art Exhibition to be held next year.

This Sunday, November 9, Bellingen Urban Landcare Group will be holding a working bee at Connell Park and would like to invite all members of the community to attend. Please meet us at the Connell Park carpark off waterfall way at 9am - look for the blue trailer, wear covered shoes and bring a hat. Morning tea will be provided.

If you would like further information or to contribute to this project please contact BULC’s Project Manager Carmen Muldoon by phone on 0438 060 576 or visit the website at www.bellingenurbanlandcare.org.au

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
